As an eco-luxury boutique resort in Bali, our philosophy blends environmental stewardship, cultural preservation, and community empowerment. Every element of our resort has been designed to celebrate Sidemen’s natural beauty while supporting those who call this valley home.

Building with Heritage & Heart

Our 29 eco-friendly villas and lumbungs — including private pool villas — were built by local craftsmen using reclaimed timbers and sustainable hardwoods from the forests of East Kalimantan. Many of our villas and our restaurant are crafted from authentic Javanese Joglos, traditional wooden homes, some over a century old. Each Joglo has been lovingly restored and repurposed by skilled artisans in the Sidemen Valley, preserving Indonesia’s architectural heritage while reducing waste and resource use.

Whenever possible, we work exclusively with local contractors and builders from Sidemen, ensuring our development directly benefits the community. By prioritising locally sourced materials and craftsmanship, we reduce our carbon footprint and foster long-term economic resilience within the valley.

Our sustainability commitment extends beyond our property through our flagship initiative, Support Sidemen, a community-driven program that uplifts families in one of Bali’s most rural and underdeveloped regions.

Through Support Sidemen, we:

  • Fund education programs and supply local schools with essential materials.
  • Sponsor training that equips residents with employable skills.
  • Run a Plastic Exchange Program, where villagers trade collected plastics for rice — transforming waste into nourishment and reducing pollution.
  • Deliver ongoing aid and respond to community needs during natural events and hardships.

We also host environmental education sessions in local schools, ensuring children grow up with a strong understanding of conservation and recycling.
