COVID 19 POLICY
Samanvaya is an ideal destination for travellers wanting a private, self-contained and luxury experience in a remote location surrounded by unspoiled natural beauty, authentic Balinese culture and unique wilderness.
In response to the new normal as a result of Covid 19, we have introduced standard operating procedures within our resort outlining our plan and procedures to create the safest environment for our guests and our community, and ensure the safety, health and cleanliness of your stay.
Our team is well trained in understanding the specific requirements resulting from this pandemic and are working hard to ensure our guests’ time with us is managed seamlessly and all concerns are considered.
COVID SAFE GOVERNMENT CERTIFICATION
In support of Indonesia’s strong cleanliness, health and safety protocols, we have completed CHSE certification by the Bali Tourism Office, by Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy Indonesia. These standards are very high and are consistent with the recommendations by WHO and CDC.
All of our staff are 100% vaccinated with the first dose and 90% vaccinated with the second dose. We are actively working on getting all staff members to full vaccination levels.
STEPS TO STOP THE SPREAD
In order to ensure that we do not put those vulnerable at risk, we are implementing the recommended ’steps to stop the spread’. While we always have strict hygiene practices and cleaning standards, we have introduced a number of additional measures to further reduce risks and support a safe environment. This includes placing signage and additional sanitising products around our hotel and implementing processes to maintain a very low risk environment. We have cell phones, menus for the restaurant, spa and local activities within the rooms and can also do room service without contact if requested.
We follow the guidelines and recommendations of local authorities:
- All staff have been provided with information about COVID-19 and management instructions
- Increased focus on hand hygiene by all staff
- Increased cleaning and hygiene protocols
- Regular disinfection of exposed surfaces such as door handles and bench tops with anti-bacterial liquids

HOTEL AND PUBLIC AREAS
All guests and suppliers will receive a mandatory body temperature check and be required to complete a health declaration form upon arrival. Guests, day visitors and suppliers with a temperature of 37.3 or higher will not be granted permission to enter. We provide hand sanitisation to all guests, suppliers and staff when they arrive. If you are displaying symptoms, we do urge you to reconsider immediate travel plans and we can help arrange a doctor’s appointment if required. All hotel rooms, shared spaces, surfaces and vehicles are cleaned and disinfected on a regular basis.
HYGIENE AND CLEANLINESS
At our hotel, hygiene and cleanliness are always prioritised. We are emphasising the importance of good hand hygiene and have strict policies for all of our team members especially those handling food. We encourage all guests to frequently wash their hands with soap and warm water and have hand sanitiser available throughout the hotel. Please make use of this during your time with us. Disinfectants are used for all continuous and deep cleaning processes.
FOOD AND BEVERAGE
You will be provided with a cell phone in your room to easily order meals which can be delivered directly to your door and without contact if requested. Menu’s are also available within your rooms and on our website and social media pages to make this process easy for you. We have put new procedures in place to ensure anyone that comes into contact with food has increased their hygiene practices. The tables within the restaurant have all been laid out in a way that gives each guest distance between other diners. We also have several private dining spots throughout the resort for your use.

You can also communicate with our staff who will be more than happy to help you plan activities during your stay – rooms have phones available to make this contact free too! Outdoor activities are abundant and encouraged. Being in a remote village, walking throughout the region is highly recommended and interaction with others can be limited and done at a safe distance. We recommend you wearing your mask while in the village. Our spa continues to welcome guests with a reservation. Appointments will be staggered to ensure sufficient time for deep cleaning of facilities in-between guest treatments. We have restructured and increased our training to support our staff in providing the same experiential service during this new state of normal. With our increased intensity in training, we are confident we are providing an enjoyable and safe environment for all. Staff are undergoing ongoing education to ensure they continue to meet the high standards we require.
Whist the ability to travel is now opening up, we accept there are still some risks associated with travel and cancellations due to covid – 19.
To address these risks, we have adapted our booking process to allow bookings more than 60 days prior to check in, to be made without payment, just guaranteed with a credit card.
This means that you can cancel up until 60 days prior to check in with no payment. At 59 days prior, we will test your credit card wth one nights deposit, but not take payment.
Within 60 days of checkin any cancellation will be non refundable and will be charged at the full balance owed.
If however you need to cancel, due to a covid – 19 related issue, we will charge the full amount, but issue you with a voucher for the amount charged to be used in the future with us. We may require proof of the issue depending on the circumstances.
We will continuously monitor the situation in Bali so that we can offer a safe haven for our guests that are staying with us.
From all of us at Samanvaya, we wish you the best health and happiness during these trying times and we look forward to welcoming you back to enjoy the simplicity and serenity of escaping to nature with us.
